Surviving an Emotional Storm

You may not want to admit it but, once and a while you get scared.  When you engage with negative emotions, your mind starts wondering with all the nutty negative things you can possibly think about and you get scared.

However, you don't have to be so fearful because God is more powerful than any force of evil and He will take care of you.  He loves you.  He is watching out for you.  

Everyone wants to know they are safe.  But there isn't any way to know that apart from God.  Remember how powerful He is.  Remember that He commands everything.  Remember that nothing can stand against Him.  Remember how much He loves you.  He will take care of you.  He is watching over you all the time.

Pray for wisdom!  But when you do, make sure you are ready to receive it.  Believe the word that the Lord has for you, and do not doubt. Your vey life depends on it.

Look for the silver lining.  One of the ways in which resilient people differ from the non-resilient is in their ability to see the positive in any situation.  The next time you are faced with a challenging, upsetting or painful situation, come up with a least one positive outcome.  The silver lining could be a new door of possibility opening up and you might find yourself well on the way calm waters and sunshine!
